WEST FITZROY APARTMENT BUILDING

Hanham & Philp were approached after the Christchurch earthquakes by the Body Corporate to assist in the strengthening and total refurbishment of this iconic central city apartment which was originally constructed by Hanham & Philp in 1995 – the carpark was built by another company.

Initially we assisted in the appointment of a suitable Project Manager to take a lead role in settling with the insurance company. Hanham & Philp were engaged under a negotiated form of contract with full open-book disclosure and vetting by a PQS, packages were priced and submitted with extensive value engineering taking place to remain within the settled budget.

Commencing in 2020 the initial phase was the re-levelling (by others) and structural upgrade to the apartment building and carpark behind. This included the full demolition of the ground floor and reinstatement to original plan. We are currently underway with the refurbishment of the seventy apartments to a modern design spec, with full replacement of kitchens and bathrooms and an upgrade of services throughout including fire requirements. The building has been vacated throughout the works.
