ARCHIBALDS DEALERSHIP

This dealership building brings together the prestige European brands of Volvo, Jaguar and Land Rover.

The building is identified by protrusions from the main anchor structure identifying the different brands of vehicles and clad in aluminum in a similar fashion to the Audi Terminal building next door – also constructed by Hanham & Philp. With car ramp access at the rear into the interior of the building, it incorporates a full-service 11 bay vehicle workshop and showroom access and a separate classic car showroom.

The remaining spaces are taken up by offices and a well-appointed customer lounge. The major challenge for this project related to design changes following commencement due to the CCDU and CCC identifying the location as a medical precinct post-earthquake and therefore extensive modifications took place to increase the building’s adaptability.
