Hanham & Philp was selected by the client on an Early Contractor Involvement process as main contractor for this greenfield build.
An open book procurement process was carried out over two separate pricing stages. The first stage allowed civil and structural trades to commence ahead of schedule, while detailed architectural and services designs were completed.
One benefit of this process was the close co-operation at the outset between the client, project managers and consultants, which created a real “team” approach to the project. Hanham & Philp’s past experience with supermarket builds, coupled with the fostered team approach to the project, resulted in a seamless build phase, with the building delivered on time and on budget (albeit with a four week lockdown due to Covid19).
